ABOUT CE MARKING
Only personal and portable fall prevention anchors must have CE marking (under PPE European Directive 89/686/CEE)
European Directive 89/686/CEE on Personal Protective Equipment:
Structural fall protection anchorage devices are not included in the scope of application of the European Directive 89/686/CEE on Personal Protective Equipment. They are not considered PPE. CE marking of fall protection anchors is not applied as personal protective equipment.
Regulation for fall protection Anchor devices; European Standard EN 795 of personal fall protection equipment:
Anchors that are not removable from the structure are outside the scope of the anchorage devices standard EN795:2012 Personal Fall Protection Equipment. Anchor Devices.
EN 795:2012. Scope: Standard EN795:2012 is not applicable to structural anchors.
EN 795:2012 Definitions: Structural anchorage: An element or elements designed to (…) and to be permanently incorporated into a structure. (According to the standard, the structural anchor is not part of the anchor device.)
The fixed anchor points that form an integral part of the original structure are left outside the scope of the foregoing standard EN795:1996.
European Regulations on Construction Products (EU) No. 305/2011:
CE marking is only obligatory for products covered by harmonized standards.
The European Regulations on Construction Products does not include any “European Assessment Document” for structural fall protection anchors embedded in concrete.
